About Us
Over 30 Years of Servicing Bayside Motorists
Eric started the workshop more than three decades ago and now runs it alongside his son, Darren. Together, they bring over 50 years of practical mechanical experience across a wide range of makes and models, from everyday family cars to work utes that need to stay on the road.
Whether it’s a logbook service, a roadworthy inspection or an unusual noise you can’t identify, the team at E & M Mechanical will investigate the issue and explain what’s happening in clear, straightforward terms.

What to Expect
From Your First Call to Collecting Your Car
Getting your car looked after shouldn’t be complicated. Give us a call or fill out the online form to let us know what’s happening with your car, or simply book your next service. We’ll arrange a time that suits you.
When your car comes in, we take the time to inspect it properly rather than just focusing on the job you booked. If we find anything else that needs attention, we’ll call you to explain the issue and the cost before proceeding with any additional work. Nothing goes ahead without your approval.
Once the work is complete, we’ll explain what we’ve done and let you know if there’s anything to keep an eye on. You’ll leave knowing what work was carried out on your car and what you’ve paid for.
Why Locals Choose Us
Word Gets Around
Most of our customers come to us through recommendations. Someone brings their car in, has a good experience and tells a mate, a family member or a colleague who needs a reliable mechanic. That’s how we’ve built our reputation over more than 30 years.
We’ve watched children from local families grow up and bring their own first cars to our workshop. We know many of our customers by name and are familiar with the vehicles they drive. These long-standing relationships mean a great deal to us, and we never take them for granted.
Being part of the Chandler and Bayside community means our reputation is reflected in every job we complete. That’s something we take seriously.
Our Approach to Car Care
It's All About Doing Things Right
Honesty First
If your car doesn't need a repair, we won't recommend one. If something does need attention, we'll explain why in plain English, without confusing jargon.
Fair Pricing
You'll know what the work will cost before we begin. Any additional repairs will be discussed with you first to avoid unexpected charges.
Quality Workmanship
We take the time to get repairs right the first time, rather than rushing through the job and risking the same problem returning.
Straightforward Advice
No pressure or unnecessary upselling. Just honest advice about what your car needs, what can wait and what's involved in getting it fixed.
